MoneyGram Announces Zero-Fee for Transactions to Tonga Following Cyclone Gita


Sydney (February 15, 2018) – MoneyGram announced today a waiver for all transactions from Australia and New Zealand to Tonga to support disaster relief following cyclone Gita. The fee waiver applies to transactions of any value sent between February 15 and March 2, 2018.

“In this critical time, we want to support our customers impacted by this disaster. We hope that thanks to money sent by their family and friends, Tongans will be able to rebuild their lives affected by the cyclone,” said Michael Minassian, MoneyGram’s regional head.

Transactions can be made at any of 1000+ MoneyGram locations across Australia and New Zealand. Customers in Tonga can pick up cash at Bank of South Pacific & MBF Bank branches.
